Rodney Matthews was born in Somerset in 1945. He is a hugely influential artist and well sought after as a book and record sleeve designer. He has designed LP covers for bands such as Barclay James Harvest and Thin Lizzy, and book covers for science fiction / fantasy authors including Michael Moorcock. He has also been involved in a number of movie projects, one of which, a children's animation called Lavender Castle, was produced by Gerry Anderson of Thunderbirds fame.
Matthews has also recently collaborated on computer art projects, including work on computer games with Liverpool-based company Psygnosis, including 'Shadow Master'.
